How Motorized Floor-Rising Projector Screens Work
Understand the floor case, motor, tension system, controls and room-integration questions before buying a retractable UST screen.
The basic mechanism
A floor-rising screen stores rolled material inside a horizontal case. A motor drives the screen upward while support arms guide the top bar.
Why tab tension matters
Large projection surfaces need to stay flat. Tension systems are designed to reduce waviness and edge curl as the screen rises.
Control methods
Motorized screens may use buttons, IR/RF remotes, triggers, apps or smart-home control. The Vividstorm S PRO P merchant listing includes RF remote, buttons, app and voice-assistant support.
Placement is still precise
The retractable mechanism does not eliminate UST alignment. The projector must still be square to the viewable surface at the correct height and throw distance.
Care and operating habits
Keep the rise path clear, avoid touching the optical surface unnecessarily and follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning and transport.
