Do you need an ALR screen?

If the room has meaningful ambient or ceiling light and you want stronger perceived contrast from a UST projector, a UST-specific ALR/CLR screen is a relevant category to investigate.

Use UST-specific directional material

Directional UST ALR surfaces are designed around light arriving steeply from below. Standard-throw ALR material can reject the projector's own light if used in the wrong geometry.

Dark-room alternative

A conventional white screen can prioritize brightness and simplicity in controlled darkness, but it will not provide the same directional ambient-light management.
